I actually prefer having /tmp on tmpfs, since it's extremely fast and is
intrinsically temporary (at least for non-servers that reboot regularly)
without requiring a tmpwatch cronjob to clean it out. I've been manually
switching my /tmp to tmpfs for years, and even submitted a bug ~4 years ago
