I have been following the discussions about the workstation
part of Fedora.next and as anaconda installer was mentioned
as the model of things to come I tried an install of Rawhide
from a nightly build (this was not succesfull due to kernel
errors, but that is not relevant here).
I do hope this ve
While using nautilus in fed20 beta + updates I noticed that
when I use 'copy to' from the menu to move hidden files from one
folder to another the 'Show hidden files' option is deselected
from the original folder after copying (so the hidden files are
no longer visible).
Is this a bug or 'by desig

On a Dell Inspiron 7720 with a working up to date install
of Fed 19 beta I decided, for no good reason, to change the
order of the Fedora and CD entries in the EFI boot menu using
efibootmgr.
However when trying to boot again the only entry available
in the EFI boot menu was for PXE boot.

I wanted to test gnome-boxes on a fully updated fed19 beta.
1) I had to set selinux to permissive to enable the install
of windows7/8 (or any Linux). Why?
2) Both Win7 and Win8 install without problems but I am unable
to enable 16:9 fullscreen (or any 16:9 screen).

Dear QArs,
I would think that having serious minded users of Fedora participating
in the test days would be appreciated.
The actual testing itself is no problem but reporting the results
seems to require a 'certificate' (log in with a FAS account) and
arcane contortions with Wiki pages.
I don't

Should a 'bare metal' install of TC3 be possible or is only
a 'virtual' install supported.
I tried 2x, once UEFI on a Lenovo Thinkpad x121e and once BIOS
on an old Inspiron Vostro. Both 'default' installs after
reclaiming all disk space.
Both times anaconda crashed at the end of 'post-installatio

The standard ways of getting rid of the nouveau driver (up to Fed 17)
do not seem to work anymore in Fed 18:
add 'rdblacklist=nouveau' to GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX in /etc/default/grub
(and/or add 'blacklist nouveau' to /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf) and
then run grub2-mkconfig and dracut.

The F18 Blocker criteria contain:
The installer must be able to install into free space alongside an
existing clean single-partition Windows installation and either install
a bootloader which can boot into the Windows installation, or leave the
Windows bootloader untouched and working
What must b

On a laptop with 2 disks and UEFI/Legacy I installed
- Windows8 using the whole second disk and UEFI (no secure boot)
- TC7 using the whole first disk and UEFI (no LVM + default partitioning)
Both OS boot (using UEFI disk selection via F12) and work but
there is no entry for Windows8 in the F18 T
