new VM with fc33 installed... in an attempt to find one (or more) that caused
this problem. I happened to use virt-manager just now on my host which first
exhibited the problem and (here comes the magic) IT

Thanks for your response.
It's the text in the virt-manager as well as the file selection popup for the
Firefox print. I would expect other apps having the same problem.
I gave gedit a try and at the bottom I saw the "tiny boxes" as described in
that bug report.
