Oh, but it is possible, it's even in the manual. Look for the extension
module musixbm (provides 1/128) or musixbbm (provides 1/256).

What is not in any manual (I think) is how to fool PMX into generating
them. PMX do not have support for this, but if you say for example:

 g3x4n a b c

PMX will make the correct assumptions about the macro names and make a
nice layout. This is how I coded the violin part of the second movement
of:
