First, you need to understand that the MIDI processor in PMX is only intended
to be an editing tool, not for producing high-quality MIDI. Second, nothing
about the MIDI processor coding is easy because it has to produce binary code.

That's an RTFM question.
The indentation in the first line is determined by the 8th setup parameter,
which is the amount of indentation as a fraction of the total length of the
staff.
