Thanks to Don and Robin who responded to my query with encouragement.
However, lacking the raw TeX skills to feel confident about my chances
of successfully installing the Type1 fonts in a TeX system which
doesn't contain the folders and/or files I was expecting, I ultimately
opted for the line of
