Hi Don,

You're my hero! It looks beautiful now. So, one problem down ...

As long as I have your brain smoking over grace notes, though, can I fire off one more question? If I have a dotted note followed by an after grace, the after graces often cover up the dot. Is there any way to manually adjust them, or some way to tweak pmx so that the collision is avoided? An example would be:

b25d G2s2lAc df c2d G2s2lAdf e /

where the first group is sort of okay only because the accidental provides the needed extra horizontal space (although the dot underneath the flat isn't really pretty), but the second group of dotted half with after grace shows the full horizontal alignment problem.

Thanks again for all the work you've put into this.

I think I've tracked down the problem that Diane identified (thanks again!),
wherein the horizontal spacing got messed up when an after-grace was
followed by a normal grace. In the process, I discovered another, unrelated
bug, wherein the octave register got screwed up whenever it had been changed
within a single after-grace. I'm kind of surprised no one had ever picked up
on that one...it should have appeared in something as simple as

g44 GAa g ...

Anyhow, I've uploaded a revised version to

My attempted fixes to these bugs could have unforseen interactions. I would
appreciate more than the usual amount of beta-testing on this. Please check
any old scores that have after-graces in them, and if you're feeling
industrious, try creating new test cases that break the code, involving
single and multiple, slurred and unslurred, normal and after-graces with and
without accidentals and with lots of pitch changes including octave jumps or
more.

Subject: [TeX-music] "After" grace followed by normal grace note

Hi everyone,

I am typesetting a Christoph Graupner ouverture from the manuscript
source and have run into a strange problem with pmx. Toward the end of
one movement, there is a two-note after-grace followed immediately by a
note with a normal grace in front of it. I am attaching a one-line
excerpt from the piece with the offending graces to cut and paste. In
the fourth bar of the example you can see that the grace on the second
note gets mooshed up into the main note. Can anyone tell me what is
happening here and maybe offer a solution?

Thanks in advance.
