The router is smart enough to know the difference (outside world vs its own
domain) - ie. it knows it's "lying" and apparently why it's been told to -

Even if it is a stupid stupid router (it has something wrong with it - you

why spoof the mac-address and just reset the modem so it unlearns your
pc mac... if you must spoof it, change the mac-address on your PC,
otherwise your router will be confused (duplicate mac)

I'll try to lie to ATT and spoof the mac address of my PC - I think that
would effectively countermeasure such a MAC match measure?
Yes - the restore back to wut function... where was that - (?)

Don, a couple of things. Some providers, and AT&T does this at times,
will remember your mac-address of your computer in the modem, so when
you move it to the router, it won't allow that connection. This can
usually be resolved by unplugging the power (not power off) on the
modem and leave it off
I'm in the process of figuring this out.
I think.
We'll see -= but in the meantime I'm soliciting information on how you run
your ATT DSL modem into your wireless router...
Of course - yeah - make the tiny DSL modem "think" your router is a computer
- not a router
Oh - and since I used the ATT ins

A personal Mexico story:
I rode a taxi about 15 years ago in San Luis Potosi.
The taxi driver told me that he drove non-stop the entire day
(from before sun up to passed mid-night ), 7 days a week,
except on Navidad and other celebrations.
He told me he made about 10 dollars a day or something
Ha!
my previous job in Monterrey didnt pay even 25 bucks, in a day
salary was about 20 bucks a day, and that was before taxes.
