the director has chosen some good areas to film.

"The Descent", "The Descent 2", and two other movies called "Descent" are all
available from Netflix also. That way if you don't like the trashy caving
movie, you're not stuck with it - it's only a rental! (But none of them are
available to watch instantly...)

For $41K, I sure wouldn't want to get any cave-mud in it! I'd also be working
80 hrs a week to make the payments and wouldn't have time to go caving...

We are having one more Sunday Swim this Sunday (Sept 19th) partly to celebrate
the return of clear water and great flow in the creek, and partly to serve as a
staging ground for a short visit to Hippie Hollow later in the afternoon,

The first "Descent" was well ... anyway because it is a cave movie I'll get

The district position is for the Guadalupe District on the Lincoln National

Another correction is in order.
NM and AZ are in USFS Region 3, not 2.

Because of the heavy rains last week, the TSS postponed its monthly

look up cave info, copy maps, and help with the myriad chores of
maintaining the state-wide cave archives, then come to the 3rd floor of

If you really want a kick-a** light, get a Scurion 1300 lamp head.
They claim to be 1300 lumens on the high setting. They make Sten

You can buy a bike holder as an option, or an orienteering head strap.
They're also more waterproof

It doesn't have a diffuser on this light, so it has quite the beam on it,

As I read that chart, the "2" refers to the technical note No. 2 at the bottom
