Houston oil and gas company Apache Corp. has hired the nation’s preeminent cave
research
Folks,
Jacqui Thomas and I have scheduled a cave dig for tomorrow in Sonora. This is a
really neat dig with lots of possibilities.
We're going to meet tomorrow (Saturday) around 10 am at the donut shop.

This may surprise the young cavers, but just about 5 years ago, most cavers
did not have any kind of street navigation gadget in their cars.
I can only guess that 40% either have a dedicated navigation gadget in
their car, or they mount their large smartphone or phablets in a bracket.

These guys aren't cavers, are they? You can see bat predation (though not by
boas) any night of the week at Carlsbad or, I presume any of the areas that
have large nightly bat exits. At Carlsbad, it was mostly by raptors (they also
caught the re-entry the next morning). When I wasn't on duty, I'
