Dear Colleagues
I invite you to join us at the 23rd International Conference on Subterranean
Biology, to be held from June 13 to 17, 2016 in Fayetteville, Arkansas, on the
campus of the University of Arkansas. The website
(www.speleobiology.com/icsb2016/<http://www.speleobiology.com/icsb2016/>) has
information on the meeting, including the preliminary program, information on
housing, a registration form, and information on submission of abstracts. We
are adding to the information weekly but we hope you will visit the website
soon in order to make your plans for the meeting. Among the highlights are an
opening reception at the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks, a day long excursion
deep into the heart of the Ozarks karst, and four special symposia on:

· Patterns of subterranean biogeography and biodiversity, organized by
Louis Deharveng

· Conservation of subterranean fauna and habitats, organized by Michael
Slay

· Cave animals at the frontiers of modern biology, organized by William
Jeffery

· Subterranean microbial system and geomicrobiology, organized by
Annette Engel.
The organizing committee consists of myself, Daniel Fong (American University),
Matthew Niemiller (Illinois Natural History Survey), Megan Porter (University
of Hawaii), Michael Slay (The Nature Conservancy), and Steven Taylor (Illinois
Natural History Survey). If you have any questions, please contact us at
icsb2...@gmail.com<mailto:icsb2...@gmail.com>

ENCYCLOPAEDIA BIOSPEOLOGICA
MEXICO

This special number is dedicated to Mexico, and is an effort by the authors to
update the knowledge of the Mexican cave fauna which has greatly increased in
recent years, thanks to many people dedicated to this unique environment. This
number is a special joint contribution of the International Society for
Subterranean Biology and the Unión Mexicana de Agrupaciones Espeleológicas, A.
C. It corresponds to a special volume of the Encyclopaedia Biospeologica and to
numbers 25 and 26 of Mundos Subterráneos. For ordering information, contact
