On the subject of the Jeep, I think you could move the engine forward if you remove the fan from the engine. There are aftermarket electric fan kits that you can use to pull air through the radiator, and the kit will even come with its own thermostat. I saw someone do this when they put a big chevy V6 (or V8?) in a dead Mitsubishi Monterro.
