St. Mary's Street, San Antonio, TX We are pleased to announce that Ms. Monica Ponce, founder of the Asociacion Coahuilense de Espeleologia, A.C. in Mexico, will be showing a short DVD she produced on the decent of Sotano de las Golondrinas, one of the deepest free-fall drops and open air vertical pits in the world and followed by a PowerPoint presentation on caves and karst in Mexico and the Congress EspeleoCoahuila. Monica will also have copies of the DVD available for a donation to help her support her cancer treatments in the US. Monica is a remarkable person and one of the great cavers in Mexico. The presentation will be held on Friday, May 24, 2010 at noon (12:00 PM), at the Edwards Aquifer Authority. This is an informal presentations so please feel free to bring your lunch. Chief Technical Officer Ms. Monica Grissel Ponce Gonzalez was president for 6 years, and founder of the Asociacion Coahuilense de Espeleologia, Civil Association in Coahuila, Mexico. She was also the founder and chief organizer of EspeleoCoahuila in 2004-2008 which has become one of the premier speleology events in Mexico with presentations on cave science, conservation, and exploration. Monica has explored some of the deepest caves in Mexico and has also participated in a number of projects including exploration and mapping of Texas caves.
