This is just a consumer tip for anyone looking for a simple cell phone.
Have you noticed recently that it is hard to get a cell phone without all the bells and whistles? I needed a simple cell phone for my business and after doing a lot of searching, I went with Virgin Mobile's pay-as-you-go service on their phone called "Slice." I have found this product to come in handy, so I wanted to tell you about it. This phone is about as basic as they come, but it is very thin and easy to operate. The advantage to Virgin Mobile ( in my opinion ) is that you can easily find the plastic calling cards. They are in all the pharmacies, mega-stores, grocery stores, etc. Or you can buy an annual card. There are some drawbacks. The price per minute is very high. And you lose all your minutes after 90 days, if you don't buy the annual card. And you don't get things like free calls to family, or friends, or rollover minutes or free nights or none of that stuff. In my opinion, the "Slice," is a great back-up phone, or to give out your phone number to people you don't want to have your regular number, or just the opposite to your important calls like your mistress. The "Slice" phone is available at several mega-stores. My main cell phone is locked into a contract, which I wish I could cancel. Some of the cell-phone policies seem un-American in my opinion. I am all for capitalism, but they seem to be stretching the definition. Imagine if you bought a gallon of milk from Kroger and there was a parking meter fee, and a restroom fee, and a fee for using a live cashier, or a fee for shopping during the daytime, or a fee for basket ( some stores do this ) or a fee for asking an employee a question, or a fee for fresher milk. Your final price would be $ 19.25 for a gallon of milk. But if 4 different people in your family buy milk at the same time, then it is only $ 17.95. Oh, and you have to have a 2 year contract to shop there. And if you don't shop there each month and spend $ 20, they send a lawyer-collection agency after you. Am I the only one that is p.o.'ed ?
