I am posting this here because of all the really inexpensive LED lights
now, this one is good enough to take on a caving trip.

$ 6.99 at CVS Pharmacy

RTH brand ( Round The House )

Solid aluminum flashlight, with 7 LEDs. It has o-rings and appears
rugged enough to survive a trip thru "Whirlpool Cave," maybe even a
few trips.

It is available in bright shiny silver color.

I couldn't find a picture of it on the web.

This light could be mounted to the side of the helmet, and since it is
so inexpensive, you could easily mount one on each side.

The point I am trying to make here is that a 1st time caver, can now
have a half-decent caving headlamp system, for under $ 15, and it
is readily available at your corner pharmacy.

The light pattern is pretty good, even when compared with what used
to be a $ 40 flashlight.

I am just using it to hang on the doorknob in the house, in case the
power were to fail.
