Yes, Virgina, Vermont has caves. Go to NSS in 2010 in White River Junction VT 
to see some.
At least we haven't had to resort to under water cave digging.
When we do the OCR, Orientation to Cave Rescue, classes in VT, folks from the 
VT State Police also attend.

And often it is us Northeast cavers used to small passages that find all the 
good stuff other cavers think is just a dark corner. Ask Bob Kirk, Mark 
Passerby, about the Hobbit Hole in Middle Earth - an almost 4 mph breeze, a 
dirt floor that was easy to dig. (It had been many years, and many pounds, 
since I did Hell in McClure's in central PA - 300 ft of belly crawl, almost a 
chest compressor, only a few places where one could actually move their arms 
from beside to in front.)
