There is a very small but interesting sandstone cave about 7 miles
due south of the town of Center, Texas in Shelby County in far east
Texas ( in what used to be the piney woods ).

It is about a mile west of the Highway 96

The exact coordinates of the downstream entrance are shown below.

      31.679567, -94.178414

( somebody please save those coordinates )

There has been so much fracking and oil development near that location
in the past few years. The road over the cave was a unmaintained Jeep
trail
from 1987 to 1998 or so. From Google it now appears to be a oilfied road.

There was a major pipeline explosion in this area yesterday killing someone.
( I have no idea if that explosion was 20 miles away from the cave. )

The house southwest of the coordinates across from the tiny lake is where
the
owner used to live. He was old in 1998. His name was Ronnie Borders.

>From a historical note, the first attempted East Texas Cavers Cookout was
held
here in 1998 with the intention of swimming on that tiny lake. But I
failed to check
the water quality prior to the event, and the water quality looked
dangerous to swim in or
at least possibly very unpleasant. Most of the Houston Grotto showed up
and camped
and went in the cave, but from my perspective as an organizer it was a
failure. Had
we had better social media back then, it would have been slightly better.
 The camping
turned out to be too primitive with lots and lots of weeds and poison ivy
everywhere.
But in those days, the only industry whatsover was a nearby sawmill about 2
miles away.

Pan around and look at all the development.
