Jonathan -- I haven't been able to find the town of Tlamagazappa on the Guerrero state road map or in a very large database of Mexican place names that contains 115,000 entries. I assume it is near Taxco?

We know of no caves in Guerrero that are anywhere near 12 miles long. I suspect you are hearing some rumors that are exaggerated. It is possible that we might know something about some of the caves under different names, but the area near Taxco is not one that has seen a lot of activity by cavers, or at least not the (Norte) American cavers in the AMCS. Of course the famous caves of Cacahuamilpa and the Dos Bocas below it are well known. Are the blocked entrances that you have seen in lava caves or limestone caves?

I will forward your query to some people who might know more than I do or who can steer you to some cavers in the Taxco area. -- Bill Mixon, AMCS editor
