Before you respond with "rubber repair kit" please consider that it needs to
be gasoline proof.
Got Harley carb. all cleaned out last night and today mounted it on the bike
- only to discover accelerator pump does not work (and has gasoline leaking
out of the accelerator pump assembly)
Trying to get around spending money on a new diaphram (or possibly an entire
carb kit) I'd like to repair the tiny tear I found in it.
This surface is NOT the entirety of the diaphram - it is only one layer of
it - there is still a strong mesh backing behind the rubber layer.
The tear - or crack is only 3 or 4 mm long, and cannot even be seen until
the diaphram is significantly flexed.
Please advise with a particular substance which may do the job, please.
