Recently a double agent blew himself off and killed 5 CIA agents and one Jordanian Intelligence Officer in Afghanistan. CIA in USA considers this as a great loss as the five were considered as the top experts in various special areas and could not be easily replaced. The Jihadi in this case was a Doctor and came from the affluent strata of Society. He was a Palestinian and was living in Jordon. He was an addict of Internet and had strong views about USA.
Contrary to the common belief that Jihadis normally came from poor ,ill educated, conservative families, most *successful suicide attacks *especially in western countries were carried out by educated and economically well off young men who knew what they were doing. Jordanian Intelligence committed their first mistake perhaps in recruiting a well educated young man from economically well off family with strong views against USA and offered him huge sums if he helped CIA in eliminating Al Queda Leadership. The Double agent was too smart for CIA in trapping their top agents. We are often told that Lashkars in their training centres show the paintings of beautiful women and tell their trainees that these angels are just waiting in Heaven for them if they sacrifice their life for Islam. This may be true in case of militants that were trained and sent to India and other developing nations. However this model is not applicable in case of Developed Nations.
