The Gregory calendar has been altered by several Greek kings and has come to
present stage and to compensate the one day difference they have decided once
in four years add a day in the month of feb called as leap year .
But Indian sages kept every month of 30 days added one month known as Adhik
masa

about every 32.5 months
Adhik Maas (translit. ađhika = 'extra', māsa = 'month') is an extra month in
the Hindu calendar that is inserted to keep the lunar and solar calendars
aligned. The position of Adhik Maas amongst the other months is variable,
re-occurring about every 32.5 months.

There are usually twelve months in a year, but an additional month is added
once in about three years to align the lunar and the solar calendars. Know the
significance of Adhik Maas

dhik Masam is an additional month that appears once in every 2-3 years in the
Hindu lunar calendar. This implies that a year with Adhik Masam will have 13
months in place of 12 month

Scientific Reason behind Adhik
MaasThe Moon takes 27.3 days to complete an orbit around the earth. While the
earth takes 365.25 days
to orbit around the Sun. Adhik
Maas is an extension of the Lunar calendar, as it differs from the
Solar calendar with 32.5 months. According to Indian numerology,
the Lunar year consists of 354
days. In contrast, the solar year is 365 days as they have variations
of 11 days. As a result of 3 years,
it has the expansion of a month. Thus, the distance between solar
and lunar year is stabilized by
Adhik Maas.

The Adhik Maas 2021 period
observed from the 18th September
2020 to 16th October 2020.
