verticality or horizontality of segment of line:
But if I understand correctly, the rope would be a line, so you would
have to - and be able to - specify it the usual way with control points
and curves...
The tricky point is for portions where you wish to constraint it to be a
vertical segment, unaffected by distorsions of the scrap.

The metapost code of line symbol for this (line with black dots at rigging
points) is already prepared I think. All that needs to be done is to add "line
rope" symbol main code. We will try to implement it ASAP.

I am trying to draw rigging on my elevation in the usual way, i.e. black
dots for bolts and lines down pitches to indicate where the rope hangs.
In Therion, "rope" seems (oddly?) to be a point symbol (allowing the user
