I managed to install thereon successfully on osx mavericks using home-brew.
Nearly everything seems to work fine so far.
However, trying to apply an overlay graphic to a surface model in loch, it
doesn´t work, i.e. the surface remains grey. I wonder whether this is a known
issue with loch
or if

Are your different machines running the same version of survex? I get
that error too, but only when I am running the latest version of
survex (1.2.23), if I go back to 1.2.20 then therion works fine. (This
is also on windows 7).

I think this started life at the AUT line symbol for Blocks. My metapost
