Took me a while to think of using non-integer font sizes, but it works as a
way of hiding text of particular sizes when using scales such as 1:2000 or
1:5000 or more.

Font point size 0.01 is too small to see!  The downside is that the pdf file
size still grows with each item of text.  In my current exercise, the files
are 800kB with the micro-text, and 200kB with no text.

Still, it enables nice looking maps at any scale, with lots of text at
1:1000 or smaller, and progressively less text as the scale heads towards
1:10,000.  The only change required is to uncomment the appropriate layout -
two keystrokes!
