I tried the command line, and everything goes well... in the command line and
it generates a good pdf atlas and a godd pdf map.
In the therion.ini file, I've made the changes you indicate... but xtherion
still

Which TeX distribution do you have installed?
It looks, that therion is not able to run metapost. Are you able to run "mpost"
from command line?

Hello,
I finally take time to install a good Tcl/Tk version, and now, Xtherion can run
on my Mac...
But... When I try to compile the demo file (demo-padavka in that case),
