Thanks TT
I am still working on this and I concur with your observation but can also have
to do with the source and the copy method so it can get quite indeterminate.
I am currently playing with css on html and wiki text blockquotes. In some ways
pasted text is quotable. What is I believe
Ciao TonyM
I followed your several forays on this issue with great interest.
I want to make a few points that are about what I think is a common problem

Not exactly and it will not honor simple wiki text. Its more uses full for
code segments etc...
I have used that when pasting say email content into my notes and is great
for my own use, but not really for publishing.

*[Edit] This lead thread and top post, is soon to be updated with
information from replies, read the whole thread before deciding if this is
for you until then. The Retain call on text you want to retain formatting,
in should be fine, but only use simple markup there until I update: Thank

So, as PMario said:
tags: $:/tags/Stylesheet
text:
[data-tags*="YOURTAG"] .tc-tiddler-body {
word-break: normal;
word-wrap: break-word;
white-space: pre-wrap;
}
However, note that there
Ok, do not actually do this, but for theory purposes.
@Tony. You slightly got the css property wrong. "white-space:pre" will not
wrap at all. To see what I mean, copy and paste the following code to a new
tiddler in tiddlywiki.com and see

Mat & Riz,
Give me the data tags code and I will add it to the lead thread.
And perhaps my blog If I piblish it.

We can just do away with nuances and add this to $:/core/ui/ViewTemplate/body
and call it a day.

To add to PMarios note - and maybe I'm stating the obvious but:
If you intend to use this for certain kinds of tiddlers, e.g blog posts,
then you might already be using a designated tag for this (e.g "article").
Then you can use this as the tag that applies the styling instead of
Anne-laure,
This would not support the generation of p tags in the output however if the
class is available to the static tiddlers it should generate the same visual
results.
However we, Mario and I, did investigate a dot paragraph method that would do
this so we could complete that method if
isn't it the purpose of ?

Thanks so much for looking into this, Tony! Part of my use case is to
export my notes as a static website. Is one of the three solutions better
to export each paragraph as paragraph?
Thank you!
