Nice collection of articles they have there... lots of fun stuff if you navigate up a directory or two and look around. I have a synthesizer that uses an LT1016 comparator to square up the 10.7 MHz signal coming out of a post-DDS crystal filter, prior to driving the reference pin of an Analog Devi

Interesting paper. I agree that for nanosecond timing applications then antenna cable and matching are important. However, for frequency sync applications and non-critical timing, then the effects of the 75 vs. 50 ohm cable will not be noticeable. Rob K -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PR

[time-nuts] VP for HP58503A

2007-02-07 Thread Randy Warner
Guys, I need a little help. I have an astronomer in Colombia who needs replacement VP for an HP58503A. Can you tell me if an old 6 channel receiver will work, or should I send him an 8 channel VP that supports both 6 and 8 channel messages just to make sure it will work in his system? Thanks,

I put a 8 channel Oncore VP in a Z3801A. I had to tell the receiver to be a 6 channel unit for it to work properly. The 8 channel unit appeared to be a slight bit more receive sensitive . I also noted that compared to the older 6 channel receiver, the 8 channel unit worked when the older uni
