Hi, I also use a HP 53131A counter and find it to me the nicest, most stable counter that I have used to date. It is amazing how versatile this counter is and how stable when using an gps external reference. Other counters I have or have had are the HP 5370B, 5334, 5335, and various 5328's. I

I just pull the board (it's fairly obvious how, but I believe the manual also talks about how to disassemble the front panel), take the sliders out of the switches, and swab everything down with Caig ProGold. The only tricky part is paying attention to how the springs are installed on the switch s

Jeroen et al, Apologies for my late reply to this message - I've been out of the country for a week. I managed to get a copy of some 5680A documentation from John Cuthbertson at FEI. It is a Word document, and specific to the units with "Option 2", but it might be of help. It is in a

It's normal for those last few digits to bounce around when measuring frequency. The shorter the gate time, the less-consistent the LSDs will be. How do the tolerances compare to what's in the manual's self-check procedures? You'll note that they don't tell you to expect 10.000 000 000 MHz, but 1

I got a HP 5370A off of Ebay and although it looks terrible I thought it would probably work OK. But it doesn't :-( I downloaded the manual and have yet to print it out. Question; When doing a self check by feeding the 10 MHz from the back into the counter it counts cycles OK but the last 3 or

Hi Had: Me too. Tje SR602's 16 digits always arranged the same way is really nice. A mostly real front panel with limited levels of menuing is OK. Got rid of my 53132 because although it could do very fast frequency measurements, it offered no advantage when doing time interval measurements.

Tom, et al I have to go with the SR620 of the TI counters I have available, HP 5316B, 5370B and 5372A, the first one that gets an input is the SR620. They all run off of external time bases but I just like the SR620 best. Had, K7MLR >The other counter that people swear by is the Stanford Re
