A fine and accurate observation. I've been slowly replacing the loud 110v fans
in my test equipment with new, higher cfm, quiet 12 vdc fans that probably
won't last as long but make it possible to hear in my workshop.

Gents,
Over the years I’ve purchased 15 or so pieces of HP 3XXX and HP 5XXX series of
test equipment.
All has worked well until a week ago my HP 3568B which had worked for years
smoked when I turned it on. I had moved and had not powered it for a couple of
years. Looking at the PS board I
Awww... Aggravation? Don't you mean "challenge?"
And taming a CS reference is a stepping-stone to your own H maser, right?
(I'm still at the tbolt - Rubidium stage of time-nuttiness, and having a lot of
fun, thanks to a bunch of folks on this list.)

Gents,
Talk about ask and ye shall receive!
I want to thank all who have contributed answers on and off line.
It appears at this time that in the case of a low end CS for me, that the
remuneration is not worth the aggravation. I have far many too many projects

The first E seems to indicate "Normal tracking has been halted due to loss

The last E = "not yet in tracking mode"

Hello Tony,
Do you have the manual ?
My june, 1983 2100F op and maintenance manual, page 3-13 indicates:
E #1 is a - or acquisition not in progress, cleared by software
E#2 is a E, normal tracking has been halted due to a loss of external
reference
The operator clears this bit manually

Hi guys,
Hope you don't mind me adding this to the mailing list, but I've got various

Are you sure that your Loran chain is still up? In the US and

Hello!
After power up, my 2100F Loran-C receiver displays
(E 1002048) followed by (E-20), as usually, but recently
I have a trouble: after that the TRACKING led goes RED
still and the display shows (- E - - - E).
Running the test subroutines 1 to 4 everything seems
to be OK but the fault persists
I have a working Lucent RFTG-II-XO that I don't need. Does
anyone have an extra Trimble Thunderbolt they would swap for
it ?
I would consider other GPSDO's.
