Dave, I had a similar concern about a brand new 5071a I just purchased,This unit is dated may of 05 and was first powered up Jan 2 of this year..the ion pump has remained constant at 6 ua but I the electron mult volt has been dropping about 1-2 volts per day since then.it started out at 1525 and

Does anyone know how much a decent 5071a goes for these days..I hear the tube new is about 15k..would 27K be a good price for a new unit? I think upgrading from 5061b to 5071a might be better investment due to the high cost of a new tube.. ___ time-nuts

Just dug uot my 5061a out of storage and left it on onernight..I have never checked this unit after purchasing it 4 yrs ago. when I first powered up the Cs oven was pegged at 50 and has slowly dropped to 10..but the cs oven is not activing yet ..does anyone know how low it has to get before it

I am new to this forum and was wondering if someone would know how to check if the tube in a agilent 5071a is any good.these units are new in box but have been in storage many years(bad idea)..is there anything to look at during start up to give you an indication of outgassing ar vacum loss?
