Be aware that there are no current Loran-C transmissions you can
receive with it, unless it has been modified

The Lessay chain is strong and clear in N Italy, but you need a
receiver capable of four-figure GRIs to lock on it. My Austron 2000C

Are they useless because of the 4 digit GRIs?
If so, how about introducing a synthesizer into the 10 MHz ref input to
jigger the 10.000 MHz to something close such that the receiver will think
that 96,460 is actually 96,400 or 96,500. The master oscillator driving
the synth will still be

Following a suggestion of Paul Swed, I did test a similar approach.

Would someone be able to share the operating instructions for the austron

Have one that the servo light is on. Maybe thats good, but its red.
So not sure thats normal though it tends to lock on the 3rd cycle.

I would like to purchase the following parts for the Austron 2000C
LORAN-C receiver:
-ASSEMBLY PCB ASSY GRP DIVIDER, ASSY NO 10397137;
-ASSEMBLY PCB ASSY PHASE CODE, ASSY NO 10396936.
The above parts could eventually have been produced by Tracor, Inc.

None. It could discipline an external oscillator (a 1250A, I presume).
Have two of them on the shelf, anyone in EU interested to play with?

I have not (yet) used a chart recorder to determine the
optimum position of the tracking pulse, relying instead on

Hello,
I have an austron 2000C. I like to use this instrument in Europe, but there are
only 3 digits to enter the
repetition rate. For Europe we need 4 digits. I trying to modify the unit so I
can use 4 digits (7499).
Have anyone did this before? I plan to replace the ringcounter using 74192
