Frankenstein's laboratory lashup of 80 MHz ULN, HP doubler to 160 MHz,
HP mixer, and several amp and filter blocks. As far as I can tell, it
worked pretty well; at least, I could discern the PN difference among
several sources
I don't know what a timepod is in this context.
The only reason you'd need a 17dBm drive mixer if if you'd exceed the RF
or LO port input level of the SRA-1. (Clean) square wave drive for a
diode ring mixer is /preferred/.
