So what are my options here? how can I get the latest TinyOS using VMware.
I can try switching to Ubuntu if that works in VMware. Xubuntos 2.1 can't
be used as this doesn't contain the required folder I mentioned earlier.

you can set up a bare VM then load Ubuntu into it, Then follow the
