A colleague has downloaded Avrora few weeks ago and put it in our svn. I
am using it from our svn. I have to check which version it is (it should
be latest). I will get latest version from CVS and check if the problem
remains.

I believe this problem was encountered earlier and fixed. Are you
using a CVS version from Sourceforge ?
