Searching through the mailing list I see this question has come up a
couple times, with the most recent being this thread[1]. My question is
whether the answers given in that thread a year and a half ago are still
accurate for installing TinyOS on win 7.

it talks about how cygwin on windows 7 has problems and tinyos toolchains
live on top of cygwin. so have fun figuring it out.
mostly the thread talks about installing on intel h/w using Linux (Ubuntu).

generally problem occurs initially because of java, but it gets solved by
setting correct path in the environment variables and then it runs
