You should either execute the program (step 3) from the tools/java
directory while having a "." in your CLASSPATH, or make sure you
have ".../tools/java" in the CLASSPATH, or better yet, both...
google classpath and search this list for more info.

I was trying to see the java tool for surge (the visual output which shows
links and connections). These are processes that I followed:
1.typed in the directory apps/Surge as I am running the TOSSIM
version of it.
