I realize that Christopher's post dealt with the idea of sponsors stepping up
to fund courses that were at risk of being cancelled due to budget limitations.
But Annette's reply raised a different issue -- one that I keep confronting.
She said "... I envision: a few enterprising people getting v

Hi Michele and others who may also be interested, I shared the following paper

Hi
Is the basic problem with the way that donations (corporate or private) are
normally handled? That is, someone gets to say where (all of) the money will
go. I emphasize "all of" because is it not the case that a considerable
portion of the money is coming from the public purse as a tax ded
"Apply for" is a designation I have never heard before. I just "declared" my
major (well over 30 years ago) as do my students these days.
Please explain.

Not exactly sure what you mean by "application" (it implies that someone
evaluates the applicant and the applicant can be turned down). In our program
students cannot declare psych as a major until they have passed a psych class
and research methods.

Dear Tipsters,
How many of your departments require their students to apply for a
psychology major (undergraduate). Would you mind sharing your
application process?
Thanks

Hi, All --
I'm wondering if anyone knows of a source of research articles organized by

would like it if the research used the analyses we're currently studying in

I can't imagine that an online course would last long if it were taught by
someone who has 50-100 online courses to teach. There would be no rehiring,
since there aren't enough hours in the day for one person to actually run
that many. And the message would quickly go out that that person isn't
