Thank you Christopher!
More evidence to support the hypothesis that the news media causes intense
stress.
And, if anything ever happens in Arkansas, I'll be the second (after Jim

I've enjoyed thinking about Elizabeth Smart's behavior and reading the posts
about this, but I've also been concerned about the following.
I don't have empirical evidence at hand to back it up but believe that I've
read that this is true - the majority of homeless and/or mentally ill are
not viol

WARNING: I don't know of any scientific evidence of the following!
I've been interested in this thread and would like to ask if anyone knows of
any evidence of the following:
It's been my opinion that one reason that physical violence seems more
common today (and is?) is directly related to inc
It's not really teaching in psych-related, but:
An interesting discussion in the sauna the other day led me to wonder about
inbreeding. Brother/sister matings are common in rodents and don't seem to
cause any overt teratology. But in humans, they do. What about other
animals? Nonhuman primat
I also second (or third) the recommendation of this movie but want to point
out that it's an especially good movie for academics. Emma Thompson's
portrayal of an English professor was flawless. Rent it just for that -
it's out on video.

Apparently the original paper isn't out yet - a search of Nature
Neuroscience didn't turn it up.
The primate species isn't specified in the info we've been given, but for
some basic similarities on humans and the most common lab primate (the
rhesus macaque, an old world monkey), here's a few:
More on dietary restriction:
Not only does dietary restriction increase life span in rodents, it also
decreases the susceptability to various toxicants, especially carcinogens.
Note in the following abstract that the restriction MUST still include the
appropriate nutrients.

Would someone be willing to respond and find out exactly WHAT this
"all-natural" product is? Oh, but that's probably proprietary info.

My video with this clip in it is called:
ADHD in the Classroom: Strategies for Teachers
Put out by Guilford Press Video in 1994
It's in the Russell A. Barkley video series on ADHD.
It shows a token economy used with a class of ADHD children.

I've been teaching biopsych at our local university for the last 8 years or

The biopsych class here is small - it's not required for psych majors but is

Nina,
It's common misperception that sugar intake causes hyperactivity in children

The claim that these organizations use no animals in research surprised me

But there is a way that business companies can get around this. They can

Another GRE question to be added to the list below:
Is the GRE phasing out the analytical portion? If so, does anyone know why?
