The DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHOLOGY at THE UNIVERSITY OF NORTHERN IOWA, invites applications for a temporary one-year assistant professor position in DEVELOPMENTAL PSYCHOLOGY to begin August 18, 2008. UNI is one of three state-supported universities in Iowa. Enrollment is approximately 12,600 students. UNI has five undergraduate colleges, a graduate college, approximately 600 faculty, and is a leading regional university in the Midwest. The Department of Psychology at UNI ( http://www.uni.edu <http://www.uni.edu/> ) is regularly comprised of 20 tenured or tenure-track faculty. Currently there are approximately 400 undergraduate students and 35 MA level students. UNI is located in affordable Cedar Falls, Iowa (http://www.cedarfalls.com <http://www.cedarfalls.com/>), a picturesque town with a river and many recreational and entertainment opportunities. Candidates must hold a PhD in Psychology or be A.B.D. at the time of appointment, have evidence of scholarly activity, and a strong commitment to graduate and undergraduate teaching. Teaching duties for the fall will include a graduate seminar in Social and Cognitive Development, an undergraduate course in Lifespan Developmental Psychology, and an undergraduate course in Child and Adolescent Psychopathology. Teaching duties for the spring will include an undergraduate course in Lifespan Developmental Psychology and two other courses, TBA.
