Since I am chair at the moment, I get a lot of information from students and faculty about how many classes faculty cancel. I have no way to rate this, since I really don't know what is "normal." I'm curious whether anyone has come upon any sort of research or data on this. I need to know about

At Utica College (where I've been for the last 10 years) and at Lebanon Valley College (at which I was for 10 years), psychology faculty rarely miss a class (as in 'almost never') except in the case of serious illness or for conference presentation obligations (which is considered a legitimate
