I will be teaching an introductory research methods course soon and when I
took this course during my undergraduate days, the instructor used a text
that I found quite valuable but have since lost it and it's reference.

In my experience, the best thing to do is have a third witness present,
dept. head, dean, other colleague. These kinds of students are more
controlled when a witness is present. I would also flunk her right now, and
arrange a disciplinary hearing.
