A question from my Advanced General Psychology class, in the context of discussing the nervous system and how neurons work: Is it true that the closer a tattoo is to the spine, the more the tattooing hurts? I've challenged them to go out and collect data from people they know who have more than one tattoo, but I'd like to know if any of you have heard this and know the basis for it if it is true.
