I was asked to forward this to the group.

Dear Educators,

The Human Factors and Ergonomics Society is pleased to announce a new
resource for educators who wish to inform other educators as well as high
school and undergraduate students about the human factors/ergonomics field
in an entertaining way. That tool is a YouTube video:

"What Is Human Factors?" by the George Mason University Arch Lab
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HJMpajaLEeY

The video won the 2011 HFES "What Is Human Factors/Ergonomics?"YouTube Video
Contest, which aims to describe the HF/E profession and its impact and to
generate interest and excitement among students who are on the verge of
selecting a career field.

Feel free to distribute the link to the winning entry, which blends a
creative and educational rap song with interesting visuals to explain some
key HF/E practices and principles to lay audiences.

Your students and colleagues might also be interested in viewing the second-
and third-place winners as well:

Second Place
"Human Factors: As Seen on TV" by the SJSU Student Chapter
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1KEse_x1Sko

Third Place (tie)
"Fact! You Need Human Factors" by the University of Central Florida Student
Chapter http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A7yHmFbZwLE

"Microwave Racing" by University College London
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bzy5hVvbei8

Many thanks for helping HFES inform students about the important role that
our discipline plays in their lives and how they can contribute to its
future successes.
