A recently published study in Nature has been picked up by the popular
media and claims that humans first started to make cheese about 7,500
years ago.  One popular media account is provided here:

The only real question is how can one have cheese that is 7,500 years old

Now, it is possible that some cheeses *taste* like they're 7,500 years old
