One citizen's attempt to clean up Wall St -- the actual Wall St in
downtown NYC -- came to an end when a NY policeman came
up to the citizen and told him that he could not clean up Wall St.

Critical Thinking Exercise for Assessing the Validity of the News Media:
The New York Observer is a newspaper in NYC that aims towards a
higher level of demographic than, say, the NY Daily News or Post (but
not exactly hipster fare though there are pretensions) and occasionally
it has the really interesting news article or analysis. Here is an example
of how some media people engage in "reasoning", namely, drawing inferences
from partial information and making assertions about the world which
get passed off as "factual" by an uncritical media and audience; see:
http://www.observer.com/2011/10/reuters-and-the-occupy-wall-street-connection-to-george-soros-the-reviews-are-in/

Reporters reactions at the end should be read. Note new term:
"Drudge bait".

However, this raises a fundamental question about the nature of the
social world:

Is there no social activity/plot/movement that cannot be connected to
Kevin Bacon?

How did Kevin Bacon become so influential? ;-)

P.S. For the more intellectually curious and imaginative, one can related
the "critical thinking" exercise above to the "proof" that a witch weighs as
much as a duck -- and how this can be programmed. See:
