Hi I sent the picture to our Chair, who is knowledgeable about Freud and his times. He has shown me this and other similar pictures over the years. Here is some more info about the picture, which contains a good number of eminent people.
James M. Clark Professor of Psychology 204-786-9757 204-774-4134 Fax j.cl...@uwinnipeg.ca >>> Hinton Bradbury 16-Aug-10 3:41:24 PM >>> Yes, this is the big Psychology and Pedagogy group from the Clark University celebration in 1909. The picture is dated Friday, September 10th. That front row of 10 is filled with heavy hitters. Left to right, they are Franz Boas, E. B. Titchener, William James, William Stern, Leo Burgerstein, G. Stanley Hall, Freud, Jung, Adolf Meyer, and H. S. Jennings. Quite a row. Other notable American behind the front row include C. E. Seashore, Joseph Jastrow, and J. M. Cattell. Finding Freud isn't much of a challenge. More interesting would be to find the most luminary psychologist in the picture. When the picture was snapped, there would have been no disagreement: James. He had only 11 months left to live. Take care Jim --- You are currently subscribed to tips as: arch...@jab.org.
