Terminals are set up in interesting ways. If you're using Xterm or
rxvt, then there is an X Resources file in the TLF repository that sets
the colors to mimic those of the Linux console withe a VGA color scheme.

Here is a screenshot from today's mix of Oster Contest and MWC.
I'm using xfce4-terminal, it has no issues with readibility.
These are the default colors of the terminal but they can also be easily
customized.
