I have the same problem with slip-ons as Patti... I can't 'grip' flip-flops or slip-ons with the toes of my left foot anymore. As for the spasms... have you tried a compression stocking? I wear one when I know I'm going to be out walking a lot (grocery store, mall, etc.) and it gives me so much m

I know that Walmart does have an ankle brace, like the very tight-fitting gloves for the hands. It's black, but I do not think it would look good with any shoes.  I was useing it to help with the drop foot, while walking bare footed around the house.  It does help with supporting the drop foot.
