Dear TMA members, ( & all rare Neuro diseases we advocate for) My name is Drema and I live in Pulaski, VA. I host the Southwest Virginia Support Group. We will be meeting August 15 at 2:30 p.m. in Dublin, VA at Shoney's near I-81. There is a Comfort Inn (near by), Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn Express next door if you need to get a room to stay over. I was diagnosed with Transverse Myelitis in November 1989. I had general paralysis from the collar bone down.That was 18 years ago!!!!! I walk almost completely normalIy now. I have continued to improve the entire time. I still have weakness, pain, falls, neuropathies, and bowel and bladder issues. Don't get discouraged and try to stay in some type of therapy program or at least go to a Y!!!!! It will make a big difference. PLEASE RSVP as soon as you can. If I have you on my list by mistake please email me to remove you. If you are a TMA member in VA and see that I have left off someone please let me know about that also. Stay in touch.
