Hi all, Yup Heather is right! In spinal cord lesions, it is "normal" to not sweat below the level of injury. Also, your body has a hard time adjusting to temp changes and where the nerve damage is you can get blotchy skin when it gets too hot... Take a look at this site, very good info to be found! http://www.apparelyzed.com/temperature.html Marieke (TM @T1, March 2004) http://nurse-to-be08.blogspot.com

I think that was mentioned on the TM Forum at one point and Marieke said that with spinal chord injuries a person doesn't sweat below the lesion. Mine is T4-T5 area. That is where my lesion is in my spinal cord. I also get a lot of tingling on the left side of that area. The grease line I was talking was actually a very greasy to the touch line . As the numbness was ascending so was the grease line. It was around my waist and moved upward until it stopped around T4-T5. Another strange thing I experienced was a few weeks in, I had to rub off a lot of dead skin on both legs. Very Weird! It doesn't sound like any one else had these things. Anybody have a problem with not sweating in affected areas? Linda in Pa Create a Home Theater Like the Pros. Watch the video on AOL Home. My feet are hot all the time!!! It is hard in the winter when I have to wear shoes. I could not wear a pair of heels to save my life. I have tried in the shoe store and have to hold on or I will fall over! I am so glad for the response, at least there is one other person who has the grease line, whatever it is. I am very aware of every little difference in my body. Some one said they don"t sweat in certain areas, same is true for me. Someone else said their skin is very dry in affected areas, so is mine. My legs are affected even though I can walk. May sound little gross, but I don't grow much hair on my legs either. SORRY ALL YOU GENTLEMEN OUT THERE IF THAT'S A LITTLE GRAPHIC!! I just am trying to see what things we have in common. Anybody have any weird things they have noticed. One more thing, I notice subtle red blotches under my skin.
